In May, awareness of celiac disease will be in the spotlight during #ZeliakieAwarenessMonat. This hashtag was founded by Jenni Marieni, also a celiac and owner of the encouraging blog www.jenni.marieni.at. This autoimmune disease is often mistaken for a fad rather than being recognized as a vital measure for people with celiac disease.
For this reason, I started the Celiac ABC in May 2022 on Instagram under my account »nogluten_nochoice«. I planned my Instagram feed in a rhythm of posts of 3, but also wanted to provide variety. Since the alphabet only has 26 letters, I inserted images between them to liven up the page a bit. My goal was to make the feed uniform and harmonious, but still give each letter its own identity. Therefore, I integrated various graphic elements to make them stand out from each other while creating an appealing overall image.
The response from the gluten-free community was enormous – a small step that nevertheless made a significant contribution to raising awareness of celiac disease.
